A Novel Based on the Untold Story of Cricket's Underbelly

Howzzat!! centres on a cricket scandal in the United Islands, an archipelago of eight islands in the Indian Ocean. The novel explores match-fixing, illegal bidding for team franchises and money-laundering amid a parallel tussle between the dominant ruling political party, the United Democratic Party (UDP), led by Carlotta Rossa, and  the opposition, United Republic Party (URP), led by Suresh Singh, to seize control of the cash-rich United Cricket League (UCL). The central characters are Sameer Shinde, the western regional head of United Island’s revenue enforcement agency, and Dinesh Kumar, head of the UCL. Shinde, in his crusade for justice, traverses the various islands of United Islands and across the Indian Ocean to Mauritius as he penetrates a world of drugs and espionage. As the narrator of the story, he is angling for a tour de force, not a mission impossible as he encounters a spectrum of people, ranging from the unsavoury to the upright. But who will be the man of the match?
